Parties: UCLA and for-profit entity or non-profit entity
Purpose: Research material is transferred to or from a third party entity.

Parties: UCLA & For-profit entity
Purpose: For-profit entity provides funding to UCLA for the performance of a basic or applied research project.

Parties: UCLA & multiple For-profit members
Purpose: Industry Affiliates Programs offer faculty and company members the opportunity to collaboratively explore and discuss broad research topics in a pre-competitive environment. Industry Affiliates Program agreements are intended solely for establishing membership and should not be used for sponsored research that provides unique benefits to individual members. Individual Sponsored Research Agreements must be used for research benefiting individual members, specifying costs, schedules, and deliverables.
Requirements: Industry Affiliates Programs should:
- Facilitate interaction among industry members, faculty, and students.
- Require that all members receive the same research results and intellectual property rights.
- Enhance the educational experience of students and postdocs.
- Contribute to the University's primary mission of teaching and research.

Purpose: For-profit entity provides funding to UCLA to serve as a subcontractor to that entity on an award it receives from a federal or state agency.

Purpose: To support programming related to the training or instruction of UCLA students and/or employees in research or the techniques or practices pertinent to a particular academic discipline.

Purpose: For-profit entity provides funding to UCLA to support other organized research programs and projects such as health service projects and community service programs.

Parties: UCLA and for-profit entity.
Purpose: For-profit entity provides funding to UCLA to support the participation of a named undergraduate or graduate student in a fellowship program. The sole purpose of this activity type is to provide funds solely for stipend support and associated educational costs and fees. If the funding is intended to support the fellowship program overall, and not a specific named fellow or fellows, the funding would be classified as ‘Training/Instruction’.

Parties: UCLA and for-profit entity.
Purpose: For-profit entity provide “Inventorial Equipment” to UCLA for use in a research project. "Inventorial Equipment" is defined as a tangible item with a useful life of at least 1 year (meaning the item is not disposable or consumable) with an acquisition cost/value of $5,000 or greater.

Purpose: Agreement to extend the effective period of performance on an active agreement without adding any additional cost or materials.
Required Documents: Submit the below items to isrfe@tdg.ucla.edu and copy your TDG Industry Contract Officer.
- Evidence of current Office of the Human Research Protection (OHRPP) or Animal Research Committee (ARC) approval
- Sponsor amendment or email approval that:
- Comes from an authorized signatory of the Sponsor, if not the original signatory to the Agreement.
- Please fill out and provide the NCTE Form
Parties: UCLA and for-profit entity or non-profit entity.
Purpose: A formal agreement between UCLA and an outside entity that protects the confidential information generated at UCLA and/or that of our outside entity for the purpose of evaluating the potential for a future research relationship. Each party agrees to keep the other party's information confidential and only use the information for the intended purpose.
Required Documents: Please submit the below form to isrFE@tdg.ucla.edu.

Purpose: A for-profit entity provides funding to UCLA to serve as a subcontractor to that entity on an award it receives from a non-profit, federal agency, or state agency to cover UCLA’s performance of a clinical study.
Required Documents: Please refer to the Flow-Through Subcontracts Section above.

If the clinical study is (i) funded directly from a private, for-profit company or (ii) is an in-bound subcontract from a non-profit with an industry sponsor as the prime funding source, and falls under UCLA's Definition of Clinical Research, please contact the Officer from the UCLA School of Medicine Clinical Trial, Contracts & Strategic Relations Office (CTC&SR) assigned to assist your department.
If the clinical study is funded directly from a state or federal agency or by a non-profit, please contact the officer from the Office of Contract and Grant Administration assigned to assist your department.
