Alex is a fifth year PhD candidate in the Information Studies department at UCLA. He is interested in the intersection of automation and media, and he is currently writing his dissertation on the production and consumption of automated journalism. Originally from northeast Ohio, Alex received a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College in 2016. Before coming to UCLA for graduate school, Alex worked as a software consultant in the Washington, D.C. area. He has also done internships in business analytics and telecommunications research. In his spare time, Alex enjoys improv comedy, strategy games, and drumming. He is also learning how to golf and snowboard.
