UCLA Technology Development Group (TDG) is committed to fostering the success of UCLA startups. Modeled after QB3’s program supporting UCB, UCSF, and UCSC, UCLA Startup in a Box was created to lower barriers for UCLA entrepreneurs, providing warm introductions to pre-vetted partners across a multitude of service areas. Current partnerships include legal, banking, accounting, insurance, HR benefits / management, real estate, cloud computing, consulting services, non-dilutive funding, and CRO referrals, with further partnerships to be added over time.
The following law firms have experience working with UCLA Startup in a Box participants on matters including: incorporation / entity formation, standard legal documents (NDAs, employment agreements, etc), licensing negotiations and assistance with a pre-funding cap-table. Though companies are not obligated to continue to use their services after incorporation, UCLA TDG hopes that your company will naturally want to continue the relationship

Through Littler, the world’s largest labor and employment law firm, startups can access the Littler X-Celerator, a web-based toolkit which provides a suite of services including key employment documents and guidance on how to effectively use those documents.
UCLA Startup in a Box participants will be permitted to register for QB3’s SBIR / STTR Workshop for a $250 fee. This program includes working sessions and filing clinics, all of which can be accessed remotely via web conference.
